Abstract :
This paper reports the improved precision measurement of the refractive indices of air and CO2. The measured air index agrees with Edlen´s formula to within 1.4times10-9 at 800 nm, while the CO2 result shows a bigger deviation with earlier results by Old et al. by 4.78times10-6 at 800 nm.
