Abstract :
A novel multi-dimensional (M-D) array decomposition called matrix-array decomposition (MAD) is proposed for simplifying the difficult variable 2-D filter design problem as easier sub-problems that need constant 2-D filter designs and M-D polynomial approximations. Since the sub-problems are easier to solve than the original one, the MAD-based design approach is very efficient and straightforward.
