Abstract :
Material requirement planning systems for process enterprises are relatively underdeveloped in China. The current models for material requirement calculations do not accurately reflect the batch-wise nature of these enterprises. In this work, we proposed an effective material requirement calculation model. We analyzed the methods and principles of the batch division of materials on the basis of the characteristics of process enterprises, and then analyzed typical manufacturing processes in these enterprises and considered the formation of batches during the processes. Finally, we proposed a material requirement batch model for process enterprises and described the calculations of actual production volumes, material requirements in a manufacturing procedure and volume requirements of different batches of materials. Our experimental study shows that this model is a new and effective solution in the calculation of material requirements for process enterprises.
