Abstract :
DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) is an ETSI standard originally studied for indoor applications (in the 1880-1900 MHz frequency range), but it is now adopted in some PCS field trials. Current DECT equipment testing regulations provide for BER measurements with a channel affected just by thermal noise, while a PCS application would require a more actual propagation environment. Some propagation channel models derived from measurements, especially suited for PCS scenarios, are proposed and a test bed making use of such models is presented. Some examples of measurement results, obtained at three different mobile speeds by reference DECT equipment, are reported and discussed
