Abstract :
The authors have developed digitally synthesized bistatic FM radar equipment which has been demonstrated to measure precisely the range and amplitude of ground-scattered interference in terrestrial microwave radio systems. This radar is designed to interface easily with existing microwave radio equipment anywhere within the AT&T radio network. Results of interference studies using the bistatic radar at several locations are reported. A general method for locating the source of scattered energy is described. The scattering coefficient of large groupings of tall city structures has been measured for several bistatic angles.<>
