Abstract :
Mathematical model of the spherically stratified microwave lens antenna with layers of homogeneous dielectrics is investigated. This antenna has central symmetry. It allows one to use a set of sources at once and to form several independent radiation patterns, respectively. It is also used as mechanically scanned antenna. The antenna can be used in systems of satellite communication and mobile-communication systems. Radiation pattern is analyzed. Influence of number of layers on antenna characteristics has been shown. Dielectric loss has been taken into account.
