Abstract :
An intelligent parallel regulator is proposed for autotuning industrial controllers. The proposed controller uses a fixed parameters controller in parallel with a parametrically optimized adaptive self tuning regulator. A decision block performs the logical and functional paralleling of the two controllers to achieve a desired performance. Example results are presented which show that the proposed technique outperforms the fixed parameters conventional controllers both in dynamic performances and reliability
