  • Abstract
This paper describes the core loss differences in electrical machine laminations under rotating field in the case of clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) direction excitation. A novel design of a magnetizing test fixture based on an electromagnetic Halbach array is used to perform measurements on two different non oriented silicon steel samples M36G29 and M19G24 at three different frequencies of interest to the industry 1 kHz, 400 Hz, and 60 Hz. Results are presented and discussed.
