Abstract :
Proposes a model-reference sliding mode controller for multivariable systems with relative degree one. The closed loop system is shown to be exponentially stable. The only required apriori information about the high frequency gain matrix Kp of the plant is the knowledge of a matrix Sp such that -KpSp is Hurwitz. This relaxes the positive definiteness requirement usually needed by other methods
