  • Abstract
Today there are new, non-destructive ways to investigate conductor integrity that give utilities the capability to repair, replace, or upgrade small portions of the system, resulting in substantial reliability increases overall. This paper reviews some of the causes of failing conductor splices, repair and replacement options, and factors that support the continuing maintenance of the existing system. Knowing the solutions for weak connections in the system, utilities can make better choices of repair scenarios
