Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new relay selection scheme based on the channel gain of the source-to-relay and relay-to-destination links to maximize the upper bound on the overall received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In order to reduce the complexity of the scheme, we assume that each of the selected relays is allocated identical power. The total power is reasonably allocated between the source and the relay set through employing the optimization algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve similar BER performance with the scheme which uses all relays and optimal power allocation, but only applies a subset of available relays. Besides, the proposed scheme yields about ldB SNR gains compared to the equal power allocation, at the BER of 2times10-4.
