Abstract :
In this paper, a multi-band flat binary array antenna with compact size for mobile phone is proposed. The antenna is composed of a binary array antenna; the dimension of the proposed antenna element is only 28mm (length), 11mm (height), 0.1mm (thickness). It can be observed from the simulated results that the antenna can match in the multi-bands. Antenna can be switched freely between the omnidirectional radiation and directional radiation. Furthermore we can steer the orientation of the antenna radiation pattern to the proper direction of the base station by controlling the phase.
