Abstract :
Omnidirectional cameras are important for a variety of applications like videoconferencing and robot navigation. This paper discusses several ideas for building such cameras using mirrors with curved surfaces. It turns out that hyperbolic and parabolic mirror profiles are optimally suited for omniviewing
