Abstract :
A method is presented for tracing meridional rays in gradient-index fibers. The corresponding algorithm is implemented in the case of circularly symmetric α-profile fibers. Results from various examples are included as illustrations. The algorithm was implemented in the Fortran programming language and run on an IBM-PC
