Abstract :
A TEM-cell with rectangular cross-section and used in the transmission-mode is described, with its basic characteristics. The points discussed include: advantages of this cell, compared with existing test methods for shielding materials; use of the test-cell for different materials (metals, coated textiles, coated plastics, conductive (filled) plastics) and the correlation with other techniques; use of the test-cell for small samples of shielding materials, using typical sample-holders and the effect of this; use of the test-cell for the characterisation for joints and gaskets; and modelling of the test-cell and the measuring-set-up
