Abstract :
The paper describes a portable and stable source of AC voltage, current and power. It was developed for use with the NRC Transfer Standard to provide on-site calibrations of the watt and voltampere standards maintained by the metering departments of Canadian electrical utilities in order to establish traceability to the national standard of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). The stability of the source monitored over 100 seconds, a typical measurement cycle of the Transfer Standard, is better than /spl plusmn/10 ppm for the voltage and current outputs. The stability of its AC power output is better than /spl plusmn/20 ppm, at all power factor settings.<>
