Abstract :
The magnetic field of a twisted three-phase power cable of finite length can be drastically reduced by distributing its currents over 3N single conductors which are arranged in a specific order. The induction of the resulting multi-wire cable is expressed analytically by the help of integrals, and furthermore without integration by a simple model consisting of twist-free elements. As numerical results we display 3D-plots of the field distribution and diagrams of the resulting field attenuation factor for different splitting steps N of the original cable
