Abstract
In the paper, a novel inductive RFID antenna based on high permeability metamaterials substrate is presented. For high frequency band spiral shaped lattice is proposed as metamaterials substrate. The efficiency of radiated fields is determined by comparison of the novel antenna with a standard coil antenna. It is shown that lattice of spirals provides higher radiation of magnetic fields and an improvement of operating distance. Induction of currents on antennas allows communication in RFID system. With the novel performance of antenna it is reached higher magnetic flux which is proportional to induced currents and provides wider useful operating plane to activate the RFID system.
