            Abstract :
In this paper, we present a modified form of spread ALOHA called reduced gain spread ALOHA, which can be used to transmit delay constrained voice applications. The reduced gain spread ALOHA while having all the advantages for spread ALOHA, is also appropriate to transmit speech. We compute the capacity of a multiple cell PCS system using reduced gain spread ALOHA. We show that it is almost equal to the capacity of a CDMA system. Thus, reduced gain spread ALOHA, with the system simplicity of spread ALOHA, the capacity of CDMA and the ability to transmit packet switched voice, is an attractive candidate for integrating voice and data in future PCS systems
