Abstract
It is important for the secure operation of a power system to grasp its operating conditions on-line. The authors develop a parallel state estimation program using an MIMD computer which consists of four transputers and apply it to the test systems. The key idea of the proposed method is that the gain matrix is transformed into a bordered block diagonal matrix by using a network partitioning procedure based on the factorization path. The parallel program is 30% faster in execution time compared with the serial program
