Abstract
A hydro-thermal electric power system is considered. The object is to find the active power generation schedule to meet a predicted active and reactive power demand profile and simultaneously achieve maximum economy. The scheduling is planned for an appropriate time interval. The problem is commonly known as the hydro-thermal optimal power flow
