Abstract :
Topic of this paper is a method to increase the accuracy of electromagnetic field computations and radio channel simulations by ray tracing in the near-field region of the transmitter. Basic idea is to partition the radiating object in smaller subtransmitters, i.e. using a spatially distributed set of smaller transmitters. For an efficient generation of the subtransmitter models, the MLFMM (Multilevel Fast Multipole Method) is applied. Numerical results show the improved modeling accuracy of this approach, where simulation examples from the field of vehicular communication were chosen.
