Abstract
An intercomparison of two /sup 127/I/sub 2/ stabilized 543 nm He-Ne lasers, recommended as length standards, has been made between DFM and PTB, and is the first international comparison of this kind of lasers reported so far. Both lasers use saturated absorption of iodine in an external cell, the one (PTB) using FM-spectroscopy, the other (DFM) the usual 3f-modulation technique.<>
