Abstract :
In order to have a deeper understanding of initiation of a vacuum arc in a vacuum interrupter, arc voltage, floating shield potential and ion current collected by the metal shield during the initiation process of a DC vacuum arc are measured. The diffusing process of the plasma between the electrode has been analyzed
