Abstract :
Formal inclusion of current generation mobile phones has not yet occurred in any education system. Indeed, there are applications on the market that can transform mobile devices into tools that students can use; however, there is no official institutional support for such applications, with price and maintenance as a limiting factor. This paper presents the rationale, the specification and current design of a mobile interactive application to be used in real-life educational settings. We aim to propose a new approach, that will benefit all participants in the classroom (including teachers), to interact in the classroom while enhancing the engagement and interactivity of the students with the teacher, the lecturer and with the learning material.
