  • Abstract
Ground stations are part of any satellite network, providing communication with satellites. The communication quality depends on the performance of the satellite ground station, in addition to that of the satellite. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites are used for public communication and for scientific purposes, also. Usually, LEO satellites communicate with ground stations at S-band. The front end device at the downlink is the Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). LNA is characterized by its gain and noise figure. For double antenna ground station configuration, the isolation between uplink and downlink at LNA is too important related to the quality of the received signal. The satellite uplink signal and other mobile signals active around the ground station location are potential for intermodulation products generation. The intermodulation products generation depends on the low noise amplifier linearity. Uplink/downlink isolation and low noise amplifier linearity are of too high impact on the satellite ground station performance. The measurement experiment for uplink/downlink frequency isolation and linearity records of LNA at S -band related to LEO ground station with double antenna system is presented through this paper. This experiment is preferable before implementation under operation.
