Abstract
Although the automated vector network analyzer (ANA) was introduced to the microwave community more than two decades ago, the accuracy assessment of these devices has been a continuing challenge to the national metrology laboratories. The application of a multi-state two-port to this problem has generated a large amount of interest. This paper reviews this development and outlines additional applications for this technology.<>
