Abstract :
A novel control approach to make doubly-fed induction machines (DFIM) insusceptible to grid harmonic distortion is presented. The basic control principles for balanced supplies are extended using a small-signal feed forward control to actively reduce distortion levels in the stator winding of the machine. A suitable dynamic DFIM model is introduced. Based on the spectrum of the terminal voltage, appropriate rotor voltage feedforward signals are derived. The results of dynamic simulations using MATLAB/Simulink are presented in order to demonstrate improved operation performance
