Abstract
This paper proposes a methodology for solving the Transmission Expansion Planning using Genetic Algorithm. In this paper, we consider a plan that considers both construction of transmission lines altogether with installation of reactive power compensation equipment. Moreover, we also consider voltage stability constraint through the PQVSI Index. The proposed method has been tested with the IEEE-24 bus systems. Typically, these systems are used for power transmission system expansion planning with the AC model. From the obtained results, it can be seen that the proposed method can be used to solve the complicated problem with satisfactory computation time.
