Abstract
This paper describes a three phase power flow method for steady state analysis of electrical power and distribution system. All possible network unbalance and load unbalance are duly considered. The power flow problem formulation and solution are carried out in phase frame of reference. The power flow program is developed based on object oriented approach to utilize features such as encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism etc. Detailed models for generators, multi-phase transmission lines and cables, transformers with various types of winding connections, HVDC and FACTS controllers and bus loads are included in the development of three phase power flow program. Case studies supported by published results are used to verify the efficacy of the proposed three phase power flow program.
