Abstract :
Deployment of electronic commerce promises many organisational benefits. If these benefits are to be realised then the many challenges (or inhibitors) to successful implementation must be overcome (hence the title). This paper reports on an investigation of 6 large companies operating in Australia. Specifically, it reports on the nature and importance of the benefits of e-business identified by the companies, together with, the nature and importance of the challenges the companies had to overcome
