Abstract
Assigning a node to an existing cluster for data transmission to the base station through the cluster head will affect the lifetime of the cluster due to the power drained by the new node. Dispute arises in grouping a node to a particular cluster if it is in vicinity of more than one cluster head. In this paper we propose an algorithm to solve this problem using the known parameters like (RSS), Beam Angle (BA) of the input signal and Balance energy (BE) at the cluster head (CH). By using fuzzy values of these inputs, computing the relation between RSS and BA at different cluster heads and applying the defuzzification , an optimum decision of the disputed node joining a particular cluster is arrived at, which also increases the lifetime of the cluster and the WSN.
