Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative study of Total Harmonic Distortion produced in H-Bridge multilevel inverter, with different modulation techniques. In this paper, the Multilevel waveform obtained using H-Bridge which has less number of switches and voltage sources as compared to conventional cascaded H-bridge inverter for same output levels. In this work, two switching schemes i.e. Selective Harmonic Elimination and Nearest Level Control have been employed for a 7 level multilevel inverter and the THD produced in the output voltage is compared. Simulation studies are presented for seven level output voltage using MATLAB/SIMULINK.It has been observed that the THD produced in output voltage using selective harmonic elimination method is less than that of nearest level control.
