Abstract :
The behavior of amorphous metallic-alloy tape-wound cores in the 1-kHz to 100-kHz frequency range is investigated under sine-wave-voltage and square??-wave-voltage excitation. Measurements made up to 100 kHz at maximum flux densities of up to 1.4 tesla include core characteristic loops and core loss. These show some rather surprising results apparently due to mechanical resonances of the toroidally shaped cores.
