Abstract
The Scanning Synthetic Aperture Radar (ScanSAR) is a particular SAR acquisition mode. Its widely used in several environmental applications due to its peculiarity to cover a very large swath with a low revisit time. The particular ScanSAR mode can cause an artifact in processed images, called scalloping, that hampers image interpretation, especially in case of data acquired over the sea. In this paper, a new computationally efficient post-processing de-scalloping technique able to mitigate the effect of processing artifacts, is presented. Experiments accomplished over Multi-Look Ground Detected (MGD) CosmoSky-Med (CSK) SAR data confirm the physical soundness of the proposed technique.
