Abstract :
A discharge was observed on an experimental model of a vacuum interrupter. It burned at a high voltage (100 kV) with currents from 10 to 100 A for 2 ms. It appeared at the shield, preventing the inner insulation surface of the vacuum interrupter from metallic vapour condensation
