Abstract :
A C-band doubly balanced star mixer with Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) technology, which can be applied to Satellite Receiver, has been designed and fabricated. Measured results showed that, when the RF frequency was swept from 5.775 to 6.575 GHz, fixing the LO frequency at 2.225 GHz, the IF output frequency was from 3.55 to 4.35 GHz. the star mixer achieves a conversion loss of less than 7.85 dB. Furthermore, the LO to RF and LO to IF isolation are 57.42 dB and 44.23 dB. The size of the mixer is as small as 21 × 21 × 1.8 mm3.
