Abstract :
A nondissipative snubber design effectively eliminates switching losses and transistor switching stresses over at least a 5 to 1 range in operating current. The lack of interaction among the nine passive components in the snubber makes its operation and design straight forward without need for empirical techniques. The snubber operation is demonstrated with data on a 1500 W half bridge converter. A reduction of 10 db in high frequency conducted EMI is also achieved.
