Abstract :
A MEMs fabricated optically-interrogated skin-friction sensor has been developed which will allow for accurate measurement of the skin friction distribution present on aerodynamic surfaces such as wind turbine blades. The basic concept of the sensor is briefly discussed. The experimental set-up used to validate its performance is described, and experimental data is presented.
