Abstract :
Traditional transverse flux permanent-magnet motor (TFPM) has disadvantages of low power factor and strict manufacturing technology. In order to overcome these shortcomings, the paper has put forward a new topology of low power flat-type TFPM. The 3-D model was established with SolidWorks. Performance of ¿force-displacement¿ was analyzed and a prototype was manufactured to verify the feasibility of this new topology. An H-type full-bridge driving circuit was applied in driving system. As was shown in experiment, the 4 phase design reduced the cogging force and restrained the torque ripple. TFPM´s advantage of large torque in low speed was proved. This new type of TFPM with its driving system has high practicability and innovation. It also has certain reference value to the further research of low power TFPM.
