Abstract :
A model for evaluating the lifetime of closed electrical contacts was described. The model is based on the diffusion of oxidizing agent into the contact zone. The results showed that there is good agreement between the experimental data as reported by different authors in the literature and the derived expressions for the limiting value of contact lifetime.
