Abstract
In this paper we present a procedure to generate nonparametric bounds on the model errors of a measured frequency response function that are due to nonlinear distortions. In a first step the nonlinear system is represented by a linear system (the best linear approximation) plus a noise source that accounts for the unmodelled nonlinear effects. In a second step, the model error bounds are calculated starting from the measured noise source characteristics. The whole process is embedded in a simple and time efficient experimental procedure
