Abstract :
In order to locate the exciting site in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) efficiently, schemes of coil arrays in hemispherical, plane and torus shape are put forward in this paper to get the magnetic field distribution with ideal focusing capability. Then a self-reparative & adaptive genetic algorithm (SRAGA) is applied in the optimization the currents infused into each coil. Base on the calculated results of the optimized current configurations, ideal focusing capabilities are illustrated with contour lines and 3-D mesh charts of magnitude within the calculation domain. It is shown that all the 3 coil arrays have good capability to establish a focused magnetic field distribution in a given region. In addition, it is also shown that the coil arrays have the capability to focus on multi-targets simultaneously, and the capability to focus on arbitrary point.
