Abstract :
The National Electrical Measurement Association (NEMA) has recently introduced a new standard for assessing PET system performance. This new standard, NU2-2001, more appropriately addresses out-of-field scatter and random events for 3D acquisitions than the previous NU2-1994 standard. The complete set of NEMA NU2-2001 measurements have been performed for the GE Advance PET system in both 2D and 3D modes. Previously the Advance system provided a single 300 to 650 keV energy window for both 2D and 3D modes. A separate 3D energy window has been implemented in Advance release 6.0. Subsets of the NU2-2001 measurements were made for 3D mode at several lower level discriminator settings ranging from 300 to 400 keV. In all cases the upper level discriminator was held fixed at 650 keV.
