Abstract :
In this paper, we have investigated the spatial patterns in heterogeneous biological system by using a simple Turing model. Periodic external forcing is considered as the inhomogeneity. The formation mechanism has been analyzed. A variety of complex patterns including superlattice patterns can be induced. It is found that the intensity and the period of the external forcing play an important role in the pattern-forming process.
