Abstract :
The trend in commercial cable television networks is to build the physical layer of the network using a hybrid of optical fiber and coaxial cable. These networks provide a high bandwidth medium on which a data communications network can be overlaid. This paper addresses some of the network management issues relating to the use of such a network for data communications
