Abstract :
Nowadays, various techniques have been addressed for active noise control (ANC) systems. In which filtered - x - Least Mean Square (FxLMS) algorithm widely used as controller in adaptive filter to update the filter coefficients. Further the performance of the FxLMS algorithm can be improved by changing the step size as well as the structure of the existing method. In this paper, a two level variable step size (TLVSS) FxLMS algorithm has been proposed for a typical ANC system. This new algorithm will improves the convergence as well as reduction in noise compared with conventional FxLMS algorithm. The MATLAB simulation is carried out to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm compared with the conventional FxLMS algorithm.
