Abstract :
This panel presentation discusses the development of a functional relationship between failure rates and maintenance measures for insulated cables. The approach has been applied to rural and urban distribution systems, and demonstrates the value of using a systematic quantitative approach for investigating the effect of different maintenance strategies.
