Title :
IN: useful but no panacea [intelligent network implementation problems]
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Many players in the telecommunications game have seen IN as a key to their ambitions. The author predicts that many of their expectations will not be met. The reasons behind this prediction are discussed with reference to IN architecture and the location of the service logic programs. It is concluded that work should be focussed on network level control based on the open distributed processing (ODP) model
