Abstract :
This paper describes a procedure used to help a community and its cable provider to identify educational applications of a high-bandwidth interactive cable testbed being installed in the community. Both the community and the capabilities of the testbed are described. The outcomes of the procedure are presented and analyzed and future plans are outlined. Of particular concern were applications of the testbed that connected schools to each other, to homes, and to the broader community
